As soon as we cross the border it is immediately clear: we are in Norway! The border crossing has never been as secure as it is here. For the first time we had to show Goos his passport and the camper was checked. Fortunately we were allowed to continue.

The weather is beautiful and the mountains with their white peaks greet us. Johan tries to empty the toilet with an automatic machine they have here, it seems ideal. Instead, it becomes a very messy job because the device only works halfway. We will spare you the details.

In Tromsø we drive towards the cable car and park the camper. There is no one, but the parking attendant is still making a fuss about the two spots we are occupying. We propose to pay double, but unfortunately. We had just heated up our left over pasta. After quite a few kilometers and the ‘toilet mess’ it irritates us that we are not allowed to stay here. Well, no choice. Mirre is going to have something to eat with the girls and Johan parks the camper at the church further away.

The guy at the cable car is kind enough to tell us that there is an extra gondola going up, so we take that, which saves us half an hour of waiting. The view above is beautiful. The wonderful weather also helps with that, of course. We walk halfway up the mountain and make a video call with grandma. There is a boy who attempts to ski on the last bit of snow. The girls are cheerful, we eat and drink something. We enjoy.

Tromsø Camping appears to be an organized intention. Each camper place has its own piece of artificial grass. Practical, but not our thing. We ride to the center by bike, over an impressive bridge. We made a reservation for an Italian and that turned out to be a good thing. We are a little late and are immediately called to ask if we are still coming. It’s completely full. We feel somewhat uncomfortable with two children, because it is quite a fancy Italian. But! If anywhere is child-friendly, it is in Scandinavia. For example, almost all toilets have pots and toilet seat reducers. squeaky clean. The service here is also very kind to the girls. We remind each other to relax and luckily we succeed. We eat a delicious pizza, drink a nice beer and wine and are shocked by the bill. Scandinavia is expensive! We will stand off grid some more to save money.

That evening we sit outside for a long time, relaxing on our piece of artificial grass. Nice Belgian neighbors!

The next morning we prepare to leave. Diede comes along to do the dishes. She really is a very different type of child than Jinte. Jinte thought before she did anything, Diede just goes. We have to laugh at her with all her crazy antics. This is also the case while washing the dishes this morning, when Mirre suddenly wonders what she smells. Diede has been turning the knobs on the stove. Just leave a bag there with bottles that we still have to fill. The bottom has already melted away. This girl certainly brings life to the party!
