The girls’ patience was tested. A slightly longer drive takes us to Trogir. It feels good to be by the sea again, or so we thought. Normally we first walk around the campsite, but now we immediately choose a spot by the sea. Johan grazes a wall while Mirre gave instructions. How? Fortunately, there is only a small scratch on the back of the bumper. Unpack everything, the girls go to the playground and video call with Aunt Coco.
When we walk around later we find out that, not exaggerating, there is a difference of about 10 degrees. Windless in the middle of the campsite or a strong wind at the sea. So pack up our things and move. We put everything in the camper and pull it out 30 meters further. We make hamburgers and eat them in the last bit of evening sun.
The center of Trogir is planned for the next morning. We’re just a little slow today. We cycle there at the end of the morning. We climb a very high bell tower. Jinte is a bit afraid that he will ring the bell now, but Johan has heard that he will only ring the bell at 12 noon and it is 11.30 am at that time. Some reassurance. Quite a few steps take us to a beautiful view. Diede has done well, he sits comfortably at the back.
We eat ice cream and are unsure whether we should have lunch here or in the camper. There are some showers in the air so we decide to cycle back. That is a good choice because when we arrive at the campsite it starts to rain and it remains unpredictable for the rest of the afternoon. We eat a salad from leftovers, it feels good.
Jinte also has a pleasant surrogate grandfather and grandmother at this campsite with whom she spends a lot of time. They also enjoy it and promise to tell them if it’s too much.
We call the real grandparents and that is very nice. Not much sensible is said, there are a lot of funny faces being made. All pets come by. Totally fun!
The next morning we quickly pack up and head towards Split. We explore the city. Split is very similar to the cities we saw before, it is Saturday and there are two cruise boats so it is very busy.
At the end of the afternoon we drive towards a campsite that we received as a tip. An hour’s drive, so that’s great. Swimming pool, donkeys, chickens, new playground. Sounds like the place to be for us. We recover from this hectic day with a nice evening sun.
