And then we are back in the Netherlands. What a strange sensation. You mainly notice a difference in the way Jinte makes contact, as if we are at the campsite, and that people don’t really respond to that. By train to Rotterdam Central and there the metro to Poortugaal. It all connected flawlessly. Aunt Roos is waiting for us there! How wonderful to see her again. Very big hugs follow.
With them our car stands, they borrow them so that he doesn’t stand still for months. Quickly drop things and continue. My brother and sister -in -law supposedly have an appointment with my sister at 2 p.m. We pick up the maternity baskets and have been on the sidewalk for a few minutes. We sneak up. Surprise! Tears and hugs follow and the little Nolan is lying in his litter. What a cutie and what does a newborn baby always smell good. Jinte helps to unpack some presents and we chat. An hour fly´s by so fast. But it still is a maternity visit. How nice this was! Very big hugs, until we meet again.
Back to Roos and Bernd. Jinte is such a delicious chill child, switches easily, can play her own fantasy game everywhere, really nice since we will not be in the Netherlands for 24 hours. A fresh smoothie, nice chat and on to the next stop: my parents. They have no idea. I called my mother last night. She doesn’t say it or with very few words but I know she misses us and the girls.
Here too my brother and sister -in -law are our excuse. They come to eat so that we know for sure that they are there. Priceless faces when we income in the garden. Here too, followed by tears and very big hugs. My brother has been so sweet to make oven dishes so that my mother doesn’t have to cook and enjoy our company. So nice to see Duko, our nephew who was born in December.
After dinner back to Poortugaal. Jinte has some difficulty sleeping. Not crazy after such a day and in the attic on your own is of course a bit different than in a camper with everyone at max. 5 meters away. Eventually she falls asleep, after a lot of hugs and reassuring words. I open some packages, we leave with a lot more luggage than with wat we have come. We quickly ordered some things that we missed. Then we chill on the couch and continue chatting where we had once stayed. So familiar! To bed on time because the alarm goes off at 3.30 pm. We fly at 6.30 from Schiphol.
Slept wonderfully and Jinte is immediately cheerful when we get up, she chats a bit on the way to Schiphol and everything goes well there too. On to “home” because, no matter how nice it was here, our two dearest favorite people are waiting there. Back in our travel bubble.

We will be back at the campsite at 9.45 am. Jinte has taken another nap in the taxi, hopefully she will pull a little for the rest of the day. Johan is having breakfast with Diede and had not expected us yet. People have looked at him strangely in recent days, single father? Woman suddenly left?
We have breakfast as well and head out, the sun is shining again!
