After the leak has been fixed, we drive on to a campsite that we received as a tip. Camping Podkraj. We pass goats and cows and arrive at the campsite via a bumpy road. Those bumpy roads are now a bit more exciting since the last one probably caused the leak.

We stand. It is a campsite with two playgrounds and rabbits. Diede signs away. We actually want to get rid of the laundry, but the power goes out. The WiFi also no longer works and we found out this afternoon that we have already spent 120 euros in data costs. We did not realize that Montenegro is outside our dataplan. Oops. Fortunately, we now find out, it could have been worse. Are there happen to be any followers who work at Vodafone and can give us a shout? 😉

In the evening we read and make some rough plans. The next morning we take it easy. Jinte’s bed remained dry despite the rain last night. HURRAH! The WiFi is working again, so I make a video call with Aunt Britte. We take a pleasant walk. Jinte has learned to do magic and we participate in her act with great enthusiasm. We have lunch and decide to continue. This campsite is remote and we have actually seen enough. We also forgot to pick up some cash. We spent our Albanian Lek on Diesel and here they have the euro again. We still have exactly 10 of them in our wallet and the campsite costs just 20 euros. Fortunately, the owner tells us that we only have to pay 10 euros because we have been largely without electricity. Chill!

We drive on, an hour’s drive to our next spot. We do our shopping and a ATM stop along the way. We arrive at a small vineyard, beautiful!
Dad is vineyard chef, son is camping chef and mom is kitchen chef. Excellent distribution. The facilities are a deception, everything is faded glory or under construction, but the view and the people make up for it. They think along with you in everything. We wash our laundry with them because the camping washing machine is broken. It can dry inside because it will rain tonight. Mirre sees them lighting one cigarette after another, but yes, just say no to such sweethearts. Maybe it won’t be so bad. The next morning it is dry but that air. Phew! We hang it out outside again because anyone who knows Mirre a little knows what she thinks about smoking. We’re having pancakes tonight, with a view of the vineyard. This is enjoyment! The sun disappears, which makes it immediately cold and we bake the rest indoors. Smells wonderful! 😉

Johan had a bit of a tickle in his throat yesterday. It won’t happen, will it? Unfortunately, the next morning he wakes up with another sore throat and the same complaints as before. It kept him awake and he went to see a doctor. The campsite owner can bring him. Super nice! Just like in Greece, everything goes quite smoothly. Johan emphasizes that it is the second time and that we are traveling. The doctor is shocked when she sees his throat and is afraid that it will become an abscess. That’s why he gets, hold on tight: 2 different antibiotics, a syringe in his buttock for 3 days in a row, a throat spray, stronger pain relief and special tea. This cannot be planned, but time-wise it works out ‘perfectly’. We were going to stay here until Sunday anyway. Johan goes to bed after the doctor’s visit. It’s almost as bad as the last time. Mirre cleans the camper, brushes Goos, entertains the girls. It’s going well, but it’s anything but fun on your own. When Johan wakes up in the afternoon he feels a little better, we cycle a bit, eat some leftovers and go to bed on time.

The next day is a nice chill day. Johan goes back to the doctor for the second injection. Girls play and chat with Marja and Ruud, our Dutch neighbors. They even babysit the girls while Johan takes Goos for a walk and Mirre is in the shower. Mirre tastes some wine and stocks up for when Johan can drink again. Jinte and Mirre do some shopping with the family of the campsite owners. Quite an experience. The girls had a nice shower. We eat at the campsite, the chef can certainly cook delicious meals!

Mirre visits the Dutch neighbors in the evening. Just asking for some tips for Croatia. Well they do have that. Ruud prepared their trip quite well, I am impressed. Mirre returns at 12 o’clock, what a pleasure. The tips from other travelers are often the best!

The next morning it rains as expected. Jinte calls out at 8 o’clock: “Daddy, do you also hear that bird singing so beautifully?” Enjoyment is starting to gain the upper hand again. We fry an egg and, apart from a little sister argument, everything goes smoothly. So far the weather has not been too bad and in practice it is often better than in the forecast. We had already packed the things yesterday. We thank the campsite owners extensively and off we go again. First stop: Johan’s third and last syringe.
