We have arrived in Oslo! Familiar territory, we were also here in 2019 when Mirre was pregnant with Jinte. It feels special to be here with the girls now. Great to have the bikes now, in 2019 we walked more than 20 km!
We park the camper at a very expensive ‘campsite’ (read: parking lot). Great base for going into the city! We ride into the center by bike, a lot is closed because it is the last day of Oslo Pride. Nice to see the parades. Jinte is amazed by the rainbows, glitter and pink everywhere. She has previously asked which country the rainbow flag is from. We tried to explain what he stands for, but how do you explain something like that if it is the most normal thing in the world for her? Ultimately, it became the flag of the entire world, showing that everyone is welcome.
We are going to have lunch at a gluten-free place. It’s not normal how delicious it all is. Number one is the cinnamon roll, delicious! We take a few more things with us and go to the shops.
Mirre would like a good pair of binoculars for her birthday, and as a surprise she can already pick one out. Then it will also help us on this trip.
Back on the bike. We actually want to go to a park, but we think it’s too late for that. Diede can now go to bed and Mirre is going to make a quiche. It’s quite a bit of work and takes longer than expected, but it does taste good. Good thing, too. It takes a bit of trial and error in the omnia oven.
Jinte would like to cycle some more. We understand that on such a flat asphalted surface! In the end, the four of us cycle through all the campers and boats, we have to laugh about it ourselves.
Girls to bed and legs up!
We decide to go to the Vigeland park the next morning. A day where we half relax, half travel always feels a bit more rushed, but we manage to relax reasonably well. We were also here in 2019, nice to see it now in a different season and with sunnier weather.
Just copy a photo of Johan, then alone with Goos, now with the girls. How special? The girls can run and laugh at the statues, some do very strange tricks, says Jinte. Diede always tries to imitate them.
Back to the camper, a quick sandwich and off to Sweden. During the day we decided to spend the last weeks in Sweden. Then we don’t have to book a boat and we can just make our own plans.
