What a wonderful campsite!
The vast majority consists of fixed pitches and although these people often do not speak a word of English, they do their best and we feel very welcome. We are on a fantastic lake, the weather is beautiful and the weekend campers are slowly arrive. Apart from a German couple, everyone is Finnish.
The regular people here run a reception service. They then host the campsite. They do this full of dedication, they even wear special vests. It seems like a good -functioning system. Fortunately, the host is luckily speaking English.
The highlight of this campsite is the playground. We park the camper so that we have a view of it and that turns out to be a very good choice. There is a playhouse with really everything on it and only in children’s format. Jinte is sweet for hours and wants to live at this campsite, she says. The trampoline is also a favorite.
We paddleboard, chill on the beach, cycle and do some household chores such as the laundry. The girls have a great time. We stay three nights. Just relax after the many kilometers.
Mirre steps into a splinter from the trampoline. Fortunately there is the helping hand of a harsh fin that squeezes her foot so hard that he just sticks out and Johan can pull him out. At such a moment you don’t hear the children, they feel it in detail. Jinte takes something to drink for Mirre and tries to distract her with a booklet. From whom would she have it? Just disinfect and to be sure a day not in the lake.
We secretly hope to see the Northern Lights at night. That is a bucket list thing and the further we go up, the smaller the chance since it is light for so long. Last weekend it could still be seen here. Who knows in a different place and otherwise there is nothing else to do, then it will be winter sports in Scandinavia!
