Nafplio! What a lovely town—definitely a must-visit.
The air conditioning in the camper’s cab had been broken since day two. To fix it, we needed to go to a Fiat garage, and that required an appointment. Finally, we could go through with it—no leaks this time forcing us to cancel.
On the first day, Johan dropped Mirre and the girls off in Nafplio, then later joined us on the folding bike. That was quite an adventure—not for Johan, but for the girls.
At a small playground, we played with a little boy. Later, we found out his entire family was inside the courthouse nearby. When they came out, some of them were crying. The boy gestured with his wrists crossed—someone had been arrested. And sure enough, we saw someone being taken away. A bizarre moment. We just hope we brightened his morning a little by sharing our blueberries and playing with him.
The garage confirmed what Johan had suspected all along. They could order the parts, and they’d arrive the next day. Perfect! Johan picked up the camper so we could still sleep in it.
Two days later, we brought it back so they could start working on it first thing in the morning. By the afternoon, it was ready, and we were able to sleep in it again that night.
Meanwhile, we explored Nafplio. We visited the castle—or at least, what’s left of it. We had ice cream, delicious kebabs, and wandered through the charming streets, stopping at playgrounds here and there. Such wonderful days.
The first day was a bit chilly with the wind, but after that, we could go out without jackets and enjoy the sunshine.
Now, we’re not sure if we should say this out loud, but… it seems like everything on the camper is finally fixed. Hopefully, we can hit the road for a while without any more garage visits! 🚐✨
