We are in Albania! A bumpy hairpin road took us to Ksamil. Along the way, Diede’s banana and peanut butter sandwich came out, luckily there was a washing machine at her destination. It took some searching, so we had actually already decided to be free. Until we walked along the boulevard and came across people who were at a campsite. But where? It is clearly early season here so everything is under construction, including the roads. We finally managed to find it!

We have rarely had such a warm welcome! Fruit, cookies, tea and coffee. It was all prepared for us by Linda, the owner. Not much later a Dutch family arrived. A 4-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl. What a party! The children had a great time playing, we enjoyed chatting. Cooked and ate together. As if we have known each other for years. This couple has been on the road for 10 months already and still has a while to go. Inspiring! 😉

We decided to stay an extra night, with the tip from earlier in mind: stay if it’s fun. The next day we went to the beach together. Had lunch together, played together on the playground, ate together. Parents enjoy local wine together in the evening, we have gained a lot of tips and enjoy it.

And then there comes the saying goodbye. The first time. Jinte already said it herself, she finds it difficult to say goodbye to her friends. The first friends, there will be more to follow, but saying goodbye is always something. She got it from her mother. A few more big hugs, a few stabs, a hard wave and away. Who knows, we might see them again.

Picked up a castle along the way. Nice to see! Forgot that we were driving a camper because the mountain to get there seemed a bit too steep for our Tinus. With a “run-up” it just worked. Groceries, refuel and on to the next place. The hot springs in Permet.
