We drove quite a distance! Made a nice hutspot in Germany, what a lot of space compared to our previous camper. Then we drove on to the camper place that the friends we were on our way to had recommended. Once parked, the bedtime ritual quickly started. Our first night sleeping in the camper, how would that be? We arrived late and Diede had only had a short nap. They slept like that and luckily found it very cozy together. We relaxed for a while and also dived into our bed. We slept wonderfully!
The next day we drove for another three hours towards Thomas, Rahel, Elias and Melina. We hesitated for a while whether we should go given all the fuss, but we are so glad we did! A wonderful reunion. We had seen each other before in Albania and later in Sweden. The children immediately clicked again like they did then and we also continued chatting where we left off half a year ago. Enough to tell. They about their emigration to Switzerland and we about our plans, the seed of this trip was planted in their company. And now it’s finally here. So nice to start this adventure with them.
The next morning we start quietly and then off to the snow! Finding a parking space is a real challenge. It’s Sunday afternoon, the holiday here has just started and the weather is lovely. We want to drive back and pan around a bit but we still find a spot. Angry faces because how dare we do it but.. we’re standing! We don’t even talk about how far we stick out.
Skis on and go. What a lovely day! The sun is shining. Elias, Melina and Jinte are having so much fun skiing. Diede was sliding along nicely, with a grin from ear to ear. Lucky us! Still a little winter sports this year because secretly we thought it was a shame that we were skipping it this year. Jinte has not forgotten her skills at all. That much was clear!
At the end of the afternoon we drive back. Everyone has a nice shower, the children have a bite to eat and then we have fondue while the children are asleep! A lovely glass of wine with it, what a day!
The next morning we pack our things after a nice breakfast, we slept at their house. Big hugs and kisses, where will we see each other again next time?
