We arrive at a very beautiful campsite, Camp Banovi Dvori. Places between the olive trees, a new playground, a swimming pool (just opened so very cold), donkeys, chickens and cats. Girls happy, we happy. We park the camper so that the kit can dry properly in the sun.
We eat something, chat a bit and go to bed on time. Goos is panting a little more than usual. Now it is also quite warm, so extra water and we leave it at that. Halfway through the night we understand what really caused it. We’ll spare you the details, but Goos felt pretty bad. Quickly take out everything that is dirty and go for a short walk with Goos. Another glimpse of the starry sky. The girls continue to sleep peacefully and so do we. We are already looking forward to the dirty job that awaits us tomorrow.
Apart from this dirty job, it is a wonderful day. We have breakfast in the sun, visit the donkeys at least ten times, Johan and Jinte cycle to a village, Diede takes a nap, Mirre cleans the camper and does the dishes. There is a man standing at a special kind of house who asks if Mirre will come and have a look. There are two lambs hanging on a spit, with a kind of long fire basket in the middle. It is quite a gruesome sight, but better meat than this is hardly possible. Outside the cities, people mainly eat local products. I ask what time we can join and he nods enthusiastically. We decide to eat at the camping restaurant tonight. Mirre relaxes in the sun until Diede wakes up.
We’re going to take a dip in the pool. The sea turns out to be warmer, but heroes that we are, we brave the cold. You get used to it! We’re having a lot of fun. Then we warm up in the sun and a little later we take a seat in the restaurant. They show us the Peka, the oven in which the food is prepared. We eat delicious meat, potatoes and salad. All according to traditional recipe, according to the host. The girls are also enjoying themselves and Johan’s treatment is over, so we are finally enjoying wine together!
We enjoy a nice dinner together with the Dutch couple. Girls to bed. No matter how sweet they are, it is always nice when they lie down.
The next day we leave on time. We’re going back to the coast because more beautiful weather is coming!
