Today we don’t drive that far. There is a national park 2.5 hours away where they have a shorter hike.

There is still snow on the camp-site and the owners tell us that there was still quite a layer two weeks ago. That feels strange, it is now more than 20 degrees.

Just park and we’ll hit the road. Jinte stumbles on the first meter. Then it is quite difficult to regain the hiker’s spirit, but after a short break and with a lot of imagination, it is possible. We have to follow orange dots, in the beginning we touch each dot (a so-called alarm), but they are on the front and back of the trees and there are also yellow ones, so we are done with that quickly. Fortunately, we find a remote control in the shape of a pine cone. That works well for me. This way we can turn on all the ‘alarms’ and happily walk along beautiful lakes and trees.

Back at the camper place, Dutch people have arrived. Jinte is happy, having a nice chat. We eat pasta and watermelon for dessert. Jinte had been asking for watermelon for days, but so far they were always around 8 euros, at this supermarket ‘only’ 6 euros. Bargain! Johan does the dishes with the girls. Diede trips there while playing and hits her head on a bench. Johan rushes to the camper with her and she has a big egg on her head. After cooling for a long time, it disappears quite nicely. The Dutch are still coming to watch, they have children and grandchildren so they have the necessary experience. They also think it won’t be too bad. Just to be sure, a photo with an explanation to a colleague of Mirre, always handy a doctor on WhatsApp. We wake Diede at 11 p.m., 24 a.m. and 2 a.m. She is awake from 3 am until 6 am. We take her into bed with us. She does somersaults, laughs hard, dives and flies. Looks like she’s doing just fine. We ended up sleeping until 8:30 am. We’ll go to bed early tomorrow.

After breakfast we make some works of art for the Dutch neighbor, her birthday is tomorrow. We put them in their crocs because they are already on the road. Then we leave for the next national park.
